Help & Support

Need help with your desktop companion? Email support@meetspriglet.com. Ali Nabipour develops Spriglet and handles support and privacy questions at this address.

Please include your macOS version, your Mac model, the Spriglet version and build shown in Settings > General, and what happened. A short description is usually enough. Diagnostic reports and screenshots are optional; remove private information and unrelated desktop content before sending them.

Open Help & Support… from the leaf menu or Settings > General to read this same help offline. Use Read Online to visit the website.

Install the preview

Download the DMG or ZIP from GitHub Releases. Open the DMG, drag Spriglet.app to Applications, eject the disk image, and open the installed app. You do not need Xcode for the download.

The current download is an unsigned preview with an ad hoc signature and no Apple notarization. macOS Gatekeeper may block it; it is not yet a signed public release. Release downloads include SHA-256 checksums and a source/version report. Spriglet runs on Apple silicon Macs with macOS 26 or later; the DMG does not run on Windows.

Where is Spriglet?

Spriglet lives in the leaf menu in your menu bar, without a Dock icon. The first-run Quick Guide introduces the controls. Reopen it using Quick Guide… in the leaf menu or Show Quick Guide in Settings > General.

If the companion is hidden, open the leaf menu and choose Show Pet. If it is out of view, use Settings > Desktop > Bring Pet Home. Next Display moves it to another connected screen.

Why is my companion staying still?

Check Pause, Hide Pet, and Parked Mode in the leaf menu. Reduce Motion keeps the companion still, and macOS power, display, or session state can pause activity. Automatic Moments controls spontaneous activity; petting and play remain deliberate actions when motion is available.

How do I interact with it?

Click to pet, drag to move, or choose Play with Firefly in the leaf menu. Settings > Companion offers name, size, and activity controls. Spriglet's keyboard commands work while using Spriglet; they are not global shortcuts.

The pet is getting in the way

In Settings > Desktop, choose Pass Clicks Through to send clicks through the entire pet window, or Hide Pet to put it away. Settings and the menu remain available. Transparent margins of the pet window can intercept clicks while click-through is off. The pet may appear over full-screen apps; hide it when needed.

Sound and launch at login

Both start off and can be enabled in Settings > General. Sounds are brief and limited to deliberate petting, play, or Preview Sound. Automatic activity stays silent.

Launch at Login uses macOS's own registration. Keep the installed app in a stable location, such as Applications. If macOS asks for approval, use the Open Login Items… button and review the entry in System Settings. Turn the option off whenever you no longer want it.

Privacy and local preferences

Spriglet has no account and does not send app data to a server. Settings > Companion > Clear Recent Preferences forgets recent petting, play, and placement preferences while keeping your name, stable traits, and other choices. For help removing all local settings or deleting support correspondence, email the same support address.

Read the privacy policy. A bundled copy is available offline from the leaf menu and Settings > General. Diagnostic reports are copied only when you choose Copy Report; Spriglet does not send them automatically.

Compatibility and quitting

Spriglet requires an Apple silicon Mac with macOS 26 or later. Choose Quit Spriglet from the leaf menu to close it completely.
